Retro Radio

Primary config file:

  • config.lua
  • Internal defaults: shared/config_defaults.lua

config.lua is now intentionally small and only contains the values most server owners are likely to change. The resource keeps its detailed timing, audio, and performance tuning in shared/config_defaults.lua so the public config stays clean.

Access and permissions:

  • Config.Framework
  • Config.DJJobName
  • Config.DJJobs
  • Config.DJAcePermission
  • Config.AllowMultipleDJs
  • Config.DebugAllowAllDJs
  • Config.AdminToolsEnabled
  • Config.EmitterFxAdminIdentifiers
  • Config.DJGrades
  • Config.DJBossGrades

Core feature toggles:

  • Config.EnableCallIns
  • Config.MaxCallersInQueue
  • Config.EnableWeatherModule
  • Config.WeatherAuthorityResource
  • Config.WeatherAuthorityProvider
  • Config.WeatherAuthorityFallback
  • Config.AutonomousStationEnabled
  • Config.AdEveryTracks
  • Config.BoomboxEnabled

Common server-specific values:

  • Config.DJLocations
  • Config.RadioStationBlips
  • Config.DJInteractionDistance
  • Config.DJManageDistance
  • Config.VehicleRadioKeybind
  • Config.EmitterDefaultRadius
  • Config.VehicleEmitterRadius
  • Config.BoomboxItemName
  • Config.BoomboxPropModel
  • Config.BoomboxEmitterRadius

These are the settings most servers will touch when wiring permissions, choosing which features are on, and matching inventory item names or common radio behavior.

shared/config_defaults.lua contains the full compatibility defaults for scheduler timing, call routing, weather cadence, audio ducking, boombox carry tuning, emitter performance, diagnostics, and private runtime wiring. Most servers should leave that file alone unless they are actively tuning behavior after profiling or focused QA.

Recommended defaults for most servers:

  • keep Config.Framework = "auto" unless you need to force qbox, qbcore, esx, or standalone
  • keep external weather authority enabled if you already use rs_weather
  • keep trace logging off in production
  • only edit shared/config_defaults.lua when you specifically need deeper behavior tuning
