Radio Station Framework

rs_radio is a radio simulation framework for FiveM. It combines station creation, live DJ tools, autonomous programming with server-provided audio, listener playback, 3D emitters, and call-in workflows in one resource.

  • Player-run radio stations for live RP broadcasting.
  • Unlimited station definitions through config/runtime station data.
  • Station creator UI for identity, genre, mic channel, branding colors, media, ads/SFX, placement, and review.
  • Station Creator opens with /radiostationadmin for authorized admins.
  • Station branding colors drive visual identity in listener UI visualizers.
  • Autonomous-only stations are supported for background channels.
  • Stations can be local to an MLO booth or purely autonomous.
  • Fresh installs start without published stations. Admins create and publish stations through Station Creator.
  • Station Creator/Admin UI for creating, editing, and publishing stations.
  • Emitter FX panel for authorized emitter/admin testing workflows.
  • Admin access supports framework groups and optional ACE permissions.
  • Public admin commands include /radiostationadmin and /radioemitterfx.
  • Normal server setup should use the UI instead of editing internal station/emitter files.
  • DJ UI with two deck surfaces and a crossfader.
  • Real-time waveform and visualizer displays for local station audio.
  • Play, pause/resume, eject, deck load, queue, and playlist tools.
  • Master volume and crossfader sync through station state.
  • Microphone support through the configured voice backend (RS-modified pma-voice on legacy servers or the built-in Enhanced voice API).
  • Mic ducking over program audio.
  • DJ headphones prop while live when enabled.
  • Studio seating and laptop welcome display for booth interactions.
  • Cohost invite/accept flow.
  • Cohost monitor mode for hearing the active DJ/deck mix where supported.
  • Cohost UI state mirrors DJ state for shared show awareness.
  • Cohost support actions can be limited without giving full DJ deck control.
  • Listener call-in queue.
  • Private caller screening before going live.
  • Patch-to-air mode for interviews, requests, debates, and show moments.
  • Vehicle listener UI.
  • Boombox listener UI.
  • Station selection and listener controls for live and automated broadcasts.
  • Local listener volume with persistence.
  • Movable listener UI position with saved placement.
  • Voice push-to-talk passthrough where supported by the active voice backend.
  • 3D world playback from vehicles, boombox props, and optional static radio props.
  • Distinct nearby sources stay independent.
  • Same-source station broadcasts can be clustered where appropriate.
  • Vehicle, boombox, and ambient world audio sources are mixed independently where supported.
  • Per-emitter distance, volume, EQ, ducking, low-pass, and muffling.
  • Vehicle cabin muffling reacts to doors/windows/broken windows where supported.
  • Boombox emitters remain independent from vehicle cabin muffling.
  • Static radio props can expose target interactions and close the listener UI when the player walks away.
  • NPC and ambient vehicle sources are isolated from active player listening contexts.
  • Portable boombox item workflow.
  • Carry, place, pick up, and store behavior.
  • Carried boomboxes sync so other players can see the prop.
  • Placed boombox props expose target interactions.
  • Boombox UI supports the serverโ€™s configured radio stations.
  • Entering a vehicle while carrying can return/store the boombox based on the current implementation path.
  • Wearable radio_walkboy inventory item.
  • Uses the tuned hand-to-hip animation and displays headphones while equipped.
  • Opens the same station listener interface as the boombox.
  • Provides Open and Store controls only; it cannot be placed.
  • Uses the included prop_rs_walkboy_01 streamed model and radio_walkboy.png inventory image.
  • Music, ads, and SFX banks.
  • Station playlist mode.
  • Queue playlist and clear playlist controls.
  • Manual deck loading to A or B.
  • Ads/SFX utility tools from the DJ UI.
  • SFX preview and station SFX overlay support.
  • SFX overlay gain is intentionally lower than full program music.
  • Radio-facing weather panel.
  • External weather authority support.
  • Weather reads and station flavor tools.
  • Product ads and station ads.
  • Diagnostics and trace toggles for development/testing.
  • DJ UI, listener UI, and station creator use the same dark/gold/blue visual language.
  • Responsive fit helpers support 1080p, 2K, and 4K testing.
  • Listener volume slider and visualizer styling are station-aware.
  • DJ tutorial and station creator walkthrough support responsive layouts.
  • The standard package plays server-provided local .ogg/.mp3 station audio.
  • Server operators must ensure they have the necessary rights to use and broadcast uploaded audio.
  • No third-party music catalogue is bundled with the standard package.
  • RS-modified pma-voice is required for legacy voice servers; supported FiveM Enhanced servers use the built-in voice backend instead.
  • ox_lib is required.
  • oxmysql is required for automatic ox_doorlock door installation only.
  • Boombox support depends on a supported framework, inventory, and target stack.
